  • Less working days lost due to injury
  • Fewer days lost to paper work and investigation
  • Motivated staff
  • Legal compliance
  • Reduced insurance premiums
  • Reduced fuel costs
  • Increase vehicle wear and tear
  • Increased public relations

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

The Act states that you have a responsibility to manage health and safety effectively. You need to carry out an assessment of the risks to the health and safety of your employees, while they are at work, and to other people who may be affected by their work activities.  The Regulations require you to periodically review your risk assessment so that it remains appropriate.

The Corporate Manslaughter Act 2007

The Act states companies or organisations whose gross negligence causes the death of an individual could face prosecution for manslaughter.

As a result of the law, all companies, organisations and Government bodies are affected.    All will face unlimited fines if they are found to have caused death due to their gross corporate health and safety failures.

The law aims to focus the attention of companies and organisations by ensuring that they take their health and safety obligations seriously.  Are you confident that your business is protected?

Fleet Risk Management

A third of all road traffic collisions involve somebody who is at work.  This may account for over 20 fatalities and 250 serious injuries every week.   Some employers wrongly believe that it is sufficient to only check documentation relating to company vehicles, comply with road traffic legislation and check an employee's driving licence to ensure the safety of their workforce, and others.

Health and safety law applies to on-the-road work  activities as to all other work related activities.   All risks should be effectively managed within a health and safety management system.  Failure to comply with this basic 'duty of care' could have serious ramifications.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

The Act requires you to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all employees while at work. You also have a responsibility to ensure that others are not put at risk by your work-related driving activities.
