What is MiDAS?

MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association UK (CTA) UK, which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote safer operation of minibuses.

The MiDAS scheme is nationally recognised as 'best practice' within the public sector.

Who is it aimed at?

MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses.  Member organisations range from small voluntary organisations operating one vehicle, to local authorities operating a large fleet of minibuses, schools, colleges and universities.                      

CTA UK provides training agency status to suitably qualified organisations.  Drive Safe UK provides you with the very best in terms of road safety education, driver training and road risk management.   All trainers are CTA UK approved minibus trainers, Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) and registered as fleet trainers with the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

What do drivers get out of this?

Drivers who successfully complete the MiDAS assessment and training programme will receive a nationally recognised certificate valid for four years.   A comprehensive 'MiDAS Driver's Handbook' is available at an additional cost.  We can now provide training at a cost of ONLY £68 per driver.  

What's included in the DAS Training Course?

The course provides drivers with road safety education and practical experience of how to drive and use a minibus safely.  The classroom based training session is followed by on-road driver training and assessments.

Training can be delivered in your own minibus to an individual or groups of up to 4 drivers.  The MiDAS training and covers a wide range of driver responsibilities and legal awareness:
